DRM Tutorials |
The Microsoft
Windows Media Digital Rights Management (DRM)
is an end-to-end DRM system that offers content
providers and retailers a flexible platform
for the secure distribution of digital media
files. The following video demonstrations
show the process of protecting and delivering
valuable content using the Windows Media Rights
Manager Software Development Kit (SDK).
The
content packaging, distribution, and licensing
process begins with a piece of encoded content.
The content packager packages the content
as an encrypted Windows Media file and then
shares the secrets for decrypting and licensing
the file with the license issuer. The encrypted
content is distributed to consumers through
the Internet, CD, or other conventional
means. Consumers are then issued a license
to play the file, and use it according to
the business rules defined for it.
You
can learn about this process by watching
these four demonstration videos.

| License
Delivery |
| In
this demonstration, you'll see how licenses
are delivered to consumers so they can play
their content. You will see four examples
of how consumers acquire licenses: silently,
nonsilently, predelivered, and non-predelivered
(by request). |
